EMPOWERING LIVES BEYOND

Support. Transformation. Purpose.

Coachmate Collective is a grassroots, public 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

INCARCERATION

Coachmate Collective believes every human being has the capacity to be a contribution to society. We support people affected by incarceration get beyond the mental chatter that gives reasons to stop moving towards their contribution.

By supporting people to take clear, focused steps, we all move forward.

JOIN THE OLLECTIVE

We are an inclusive, anti-racist collective of Coaches, Participants and Supporters who are part of the movement to end the cycle of mass incarceration.

Using highly developed and tested ACE coaching tools, skills, connection and support, we seek to catalyze the possibilities in all humans and the desire to make a difference.

Be a Participant

If you or someone you know is incarcerated and would love support from a Coach, please fill out the Participant Form to nominate yourself or your loved one to set up a Discovery Call with a Coach. We also support individuals at pre- and post-incarceration stages. Others affected by incarceration, such as family, partners and DOC staff, are encouraged to join our mailing list to stay updated regarding future expansion of coaching services and training opportunities.

Be a Coach

We are currently accepting applications for graduates and students of the ACE Training Program. ICF Credentialed Coaches are also welcome to apply and will be considered on a case by case basis. Fostering respect and dignity through person-centered language and understanding individual identities is a requirement to join our collective as a Coach. We request all Coaches provide a minimum of 10 coaching hours pro-bono prior to becoming a paid CMC Coach.

Donations of time and money keep the collective moving forward. Money received is allocated in the following order: paying for the cost of coaching calls via the prison phone system, emailing Participants via the prison email system, organizational costs, and eventually, providing a stipend to our (currently volunteer) Coaches. We are also interested in partnering with like-minded organizations and grant funders.

“After 23 years in prison so far, I am out of touch and institutionalized. It is far too easy to see the world and life and its people in a cynical manner... [My coach] has helped me (and is still helping me) find my answers to what makes life worth living in an existence like this. She has been very patient and especially intuitive to the things I say beneath the surface. Things even I am unaware of. We cultivate together, uncovering pathways and options I simply would not have seen on my own. I cannot express how grateful I am for this process and for my coach.”

"The gift of identifying my Standards of Integrity and Life's Intentions (Coaching tools) has been that whenever the clouds have started to gather or anxiety has begun to set in these last 6 months, the storms have been short lived... [I have] an uncommon freedom of mind to pursue the more important things."

“Thank you for not only the sessions, but for the opportunity to experience Life Coaching. Instead of dwelling on what's not happening or things I have no control over I find myself able to better focus on what's important to me. Your offer came at the perfect time in my life and I am and will be forever grateful.”

years while receiving Coach support

"I am so blessed to be in a position to support you all and the great work that I know you will be doing for the [Participants]. This is truly transformational in the lives of those who will receive Coaching, and for the people in their lives as well. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to be a part of something special."

"My experience with coaching has helped me immensely in many ways. It has allowed me to clearly identify both my self and my vision and operate from both now. Having another nudge me in self analysis has been a huge benefit. I am a more authentic human today having done so and I am grateful for it."

Justin

Participant

"The collective offers humanity where humanity has been lost. From the coaching experience, we get to see a person for who they are, and not for what they have done. To quote Bryan Stevenson, "We are all more than the worst thing we have done." The collective provides the space and the means to interact with that in mind and help those that have experienced helplessness. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to be a part of this groundbreaking initiative."
